Windows Vista および the 2007 Office System を一般向けに世界同時発売。Vistaへの道 開発段階には「Longhorn」のコードネームで呼ばれていたWindows Vistaは、2007年1月30日、一般消費者向けに発売された。マイクロソフトはこれとともに、オフィス製品の新しいバージョンであるMicrosoft Office 2007も発売した。同年11月19日には、開発製品であるVisual Studioの新しいバージョンMicrosoft Visual Studio 2008が発売された。
